Is This Bad News For The Rockets?

Windhorst: CP3's injury part of the Chris Paul experience (2:04)

Stefano Fusaro ESPN

The Rockets defense has been stellar the past 2 games, especially late, holding Golden State to 26 points combined in the last two 4th quarters. Which is why this quote today from one of their defensive anchors, PJ Tucker, is extremely interesting. "It's something that's built up all year. We see our defense now be as good as it is, but we still feel it could be a lot better. We just watched film, and honestly it wasn't great. We didn't play great defense last night. Everybody is talking about how great we were on that end, but we really don't feel that way. We need to keep working and be even better next game."

James Harden on Chris Paul's absence: "It's tough, but we don't just want to be down about it. We don't want to be pouting around. Keep our same swagger, our same positive energy. And we kind of feed that off to him as well. Be happy, be ready. Get this thing right, get this thing going and be back in no time."

Stefano Fusaro ESPN

James Harden said he was over at Chris Paul's place until about 2:30 in the morning last night, "Just talking about life man. Just talking about life."

Mike D'Antoni on Chris Paul's injury: "I hate it for him above all. He's practically won us these last two games." He added that he may extend his rotation to 8 maybe 9 guys, and that Eric Gordon will start in Paul's place for Game 6.

Despite being ruled out for Game 6, Mike D'Antoni says Chris Paul will travel with the team to Oakland.
